Lighthouse Beach – January 2013
I would like to claim credit for this piece of sand art,
however I only stumbled upon it on my evening walk.
Pretty impressive, although I bet the first kid to spot it the next morning
would have destroyed it!

Early Reflection

Early Reflection

Sunrise over Lighthouse Beach, Port Macquarie.
And yes, the title ‘Early Reflection’ has a double meaning.
What was I reflecting on when gazing at the reflection on the water?
Can’t remember. Probably questioning why I was up this early!
Nah, when you see the day begin like this, it’s always worth it.

Sunrise Squiggles

Sunrise Squiggles

Lighthouse Beach sunrise, December 2012.
The sun bursts to life in an attempt to dominate the morning show,
but I thought the squiggly clouds above it were just as impressive.
Sun: “Look at me! Look at me! Here I am everybody!”
Clouds: “Keep your voice down! Do you have any idea what time it is?!”

Shepherd’s Warning

Pink sky in the morning…shepherd’s warning.
Pretty dull morning down at Lighthouse Beach. 🙂
Needless to say, I was blown away by this sunrise.
It was like the sky was on fire with vibrant reds and pinks and oranges.
Tacking Point headland almost looked like a volcano with lava spewing out into the sky.

Beached

Jellyfish on Lighthouse Beach.
There were hundreds of these blue suckers on the shore,
no doubt having a rest after a big night’s swim.
They reminded me of silicone breast implants.
How do I know what silicone breast implants look like?
Same way as everyone else – hard-hitting investigative “current affairs” programs. 🙂

Angled Peaks

Watonga Rocks, Lighthouse Beach
I find these rocks fascinating. So many colours and textures.
I’ll have to do some research and get back to you about type, age etc.
Anyway, I reckon they rock [insert riotous laughter].

Jacaranda Twist

Just had to share this photo.
I love this time of year when all the Jacaranda trees put on a show.
I’m going to dub November ‘The Lilac Month’ from now on.
Lilac? Lavender? Mauve? Violet? What do you think?
Oh, and that sky is amazing isn’t it.
I couldn’t stop looking at the streaky clouds dancing around,
set against a vivid blue backdrop. Awesome stuff.

Pink Sails

Hastings River at Port Macquarie Breakwall.
Not a bad day for a leisurely sail off the NSW mid north coast.
Unless of course you only know how to sail in one direction and can’t turn around.
Oh well…they’ll hit South America eventually 🙂
